Huh? .. .. What I mean is, sometimes the things in life that should be easy to accomplish, aren't. Seemingly simple things like exercising or eating a healthy diet can become really challenging in the context of our daily lives, making us feel overwhelmed at the thought of trying to do it all perfectly. .. .. But, remember that you don't have to accomplish all of your goals in a single day! Keeping it SIMPLE will help to make it EASY. .. .. If you want to run a marathon you don't just wake up one day and do it, right? Of course not! You need to start small, running shorter distances before working up to the long haul. .. .. Same applies for anything else you want to achieve! Set small, attainable goals that will help you get to the bigger milestones step by step. Plan to exercise once per week instead of everyday, or add one extra fruit or veggie to your day instead of 10. Making small changes over time will add up to big success down the road! .. .. ❄It was a balmy -19 today with absolutely no windchill so we had to take full advantage and get out for a wintery hike! - - ❤Pine point trail is one of my favorites in the Whiteshell, and the current on the river is so strong that it never freezes! You can catch the water flowing even in the coldest weather. - - ❄No showshoes? No problem! We didn't even need them. The trail is in great condition for skis, snowshoes or just bootin' it! - - ❄Winter is tough... the days are short the weather is cold, but getting into some outdoor activities can make it far more enjoyable. I ALSO love curries that are super duper versatile and can be made with any kind of protein you like. I actually made this recipe two ways this week. Once with chicken, and again with chickpeas...same basic recipe, but with plenty of options! - - 🍛 Our new food guide encourages eating MORE plants, and reducing our intake of processed foods and restaurant meals. Promoting home cooked meals and plenty of variety. DYK the most popular day to start a new diet is Monday?.... the only problem is, diets don't work! - - If we restrict our eating by eliminating large numbers of foods, or try to fast all day we're much more likely to overdo it later. Our bodies need energy and nutrients to get us through the day! Especially if we're also trying to get more active💪🏼 - - So, what should you do? Aim for balance! A balance of nutrients (carbs, fats, protein) at each meal/snack. Also try to balance your calories fairly consistently over the entire day rather than saving them all for late-night snacking.
