Do you ever see a picture of a dish and think to yourself “WOW, I really wanna eat that!” This is how I felt the first time I laid eyes on Shakshuka. Baked eggs in a tasty, savory tomato sauce. What’s NOT to like??
It’s officially soup weather around here! As much as I can do without our extremely cold winter weather, there is something about a warm bowl of soup on a cold day that is just so necessary. This lentil and wild rice soup is super simple, and can be made with any combination of veggies you have on hand.
We all love a warm bowl of oatmeal in the fall and winter months. The problem is, oatmeal on it’s own isn’t all that high in protein. This can leave your post-workout meal a little lacking! Many oatmeal recipes use protein powder to try and bump up the protein content, with hit or miss results. The texture and flavor of some protein powders can turn your favorite breakfast into something you sorta have to choke down. But, no more!
You can never have too many Pumpkin Recipes!
By now, everyone’s had their share of Pumpkin pie for this year, and maybe even whipped up some other sweet pumpkin treats- like muffins, cookies, or maybe my Chocolate + Pumpkin Oatmeal Bars? Now it’s time for a real pumpkin game-changer. Pumpkin and Kale Pasta!
Name A More Iconic Duo…I’ll Wait
I’m not sure if there’s a more iconic duo than fall and a good slow cooker stew…and pumpkin of course. Something about that chill in the air and the falling leaves makes me head right to my kitchen and dust off my slow cooker that’s been sitting in my cupboard playing second fiddle to the barbecue since the snow melted.
It’s Pumpkin Season!
October is here, which means it’s time for Pumpkin EVERYTHING! Now I know some serious pumpkin fans who are lining up for their PSLs September 1st, but I’m usually still hanging onto the last bits of summer, trying to pretend my favourite season isn’t coming to a close. I mean, I don’t MIND fall. It’s certainly better than winter. But I’d enthusiastically vote for a summer that lasts 10 months instead of 3. And give me an iced tea on a hot sunny day over a PSL any day of the week.
We all love a good slow cooker recipe, especially on these chilly winter nights! And I promise that nothing will warm you up faster than the amazing smell of this chicken (or chickpea!) curry when you walk in the door.
What’s better than a warm bowl of homemade soup on a cold winter day?
There’s just something about noodle bowls that I cannot get enough of.
Move over pumpkin spice! Chocolate and mint is officially here!
